Providing Care Throughout Surgery
An anesthesiologist is a physician who provides care to patients throughout their surgery. This includes performing medical evaluation before surgery, consulting with the surgical team, providing pain control and support of life functions during surgery, supervising care immediately following surgery and medically discharging patients from the recovery unit.
The majority of surgical procedures are performed on an ambulatory, or outpatient, basis. The highly qualified team at Palmdale Regional Medical Center combines some of the newest anesthesia techniques with convenience, professionalism and compassion to allow patients to return to their usual activities in as short a time as possible.
