We Look Forward to Helping You Greet the New Love of Your Life
June 29, 2021
Obstetrician-gynecologist Taimur Chaudhry, MD, Medical Director of The Birth Place, is eager to welcome families to the new department. “Palmdale Regional knows that there is a recognized need in the community and that patients would benefit from having more access to women’s health,” he says. “It’s part of our commitment to our community.”
Discover the Difference
The Birth Place will include 33,000 square feet and feature 25 private patient rooms, six labor/delivery/recovery suites and two surgical suites. The unit will offer patients and their families a comfortable, homelike setting, along with advanced technology and a skilled staff.
Patients will have 24/7 access to obstetric physicians and in-house anesthesia services. If Cesarean birth is necessary, the hospital has two specially equipped operating rooms, where the physician, a support person, and labor and delivery nurses will be with mom.
“Any time a patient shows up, there will be a doctor here,” Chaudhry stresses. “If a patient has issues with labor, delivery, symptoms they are not sure about or have concerns about the baby’s well-being, we can assess all of those things.”
Should a new arrival require specialized care, trained professionals will care for the baby in the newborn nursery. Skilled labor and delivery nurses specializing in childbirth will provide competent, compassionate care to make the birth a positive experience.
“My vision as medical director is to provide the highest level of clinical care in a way that patients get the healthcare they need and feel positive about it,” Dr. Chaudhry explains. “We want to communicate with families to bring them along through the care process so they feel reassured and confident.”
